I have two words...
I have two words on my mind right now: Ted Cruz
This is not an endorsement! If I could vote in the election, I'm not quite sure who I would vote for. But even if you are not a Ted Cruz fan, you can appreciate how utterly AMAZING he was in the last GOP debate. I mean, come on, who doesn't love some worthwhile conflict? The moderators had it coming, by the way.
The moderators, Carl Quintanilla, Becky Quick, and John Harwood did an amazing job at turning the debate into a circus. They asked Donald Trump if his campaign was a comic book version of one, very demeaningly; and when Carly Fiorina said she wanted a three page tax code, Quintanilla asked, "Is that using really small type?" What kind of questions are those for the people who want a shot at running the government! Should we not be asking more substantial questions or am I just a right-wing lunatic? The media likes to think of the tea party as similar to the tea party in the book Alice in Wonderland: crazy and absurd. They treat anyone who runs as a conservative like he makes as much sense as the mad-hatter.
But Ted Cruz saved the day. The moderators, as per usual, were trying to get the candidates to tear into each other, just like in the last debate. It started to work, until Ted Cruz realized what was happening. He found his opportunity and took it. He pulled all of the candidates together and directed there focus to the real enemy. The sheep's clothing came off and the moderators looked totally lost.
I will leave you with the best speech I have heard in a long time:
" You know, let me say something at the outset. The questions that have been asked so far in this debate illustrate why the American people don't trust the media. This is not a cage match. And, you look at the questions -- "Donald Trump, are you a comic-book villain?" "Ben Carson, can you do math?" "John Kasich, will you insult two people over here?" "Marco Rubio, why don't you resign?" "Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen?" How about talking about the substantive issues the people care about?...The contrast with the Democratic debate, where every fawning question from the media was, "Which of you is more handsome and why?" Let me be clear. The men and women on this stage have more ideas, more experience, more common sense than every participant in the Democratic debate. That debate reflected a debate between the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks. And nobody watching at home believed that any of the moderators had any intention of voting in a Republican primary. The questions that are being asked shouldn't be trying to get people to tear into each other. It should be what are your substantive positions."

I am ashamed.
As a lot of people already know, Canada had a switch of leadership in Monday's election. We went from a strong and in charge Steven Harper to a pretty and petty Justin Trudeau. For those of you who don't know who this guy is, he is the son of one of Canada's former prime ministers, Pierre Trudeau. Occasional actor, schoolteacher, and now Prime Minister of Canada, to our shame. All despite the fact that he got only 39 percent of the popular vote thanks to our voting method. But all that aside, he is now our leader. And he claimed to do something drastic.
He decided that it would be a good idea, as his first act once he gets to Parliament Hill, to pull Canada out of the combat mission against ISIS and pull our fighter jets out of Iraq and Syria.
He said that,"I committed that we would engage in a responsible way that understands how important Canada's role is against Isil."
No, you don't understand how important it is. There is a group of people that are burning there fellow human beings alive in cages, shooting children, and violently raping women on a regular basis. These are the people that you want to stop fighting with everything that we have. This scum of the earth is the people you think we should "engage in a responsible way" with. They identified Canada as a target for attacks, for crying out loud.
Also, 67% of liberals support extending Canada's mission in Iraq and Syria, according to an Ipsos Reid poll earlier this year. And the majority of non-liberal Canadians.
If this is where our country is headed under the leadership of the Right and Honourable Justin Trudeau, then I am ashamed.

Election Day!
What a perfect day for my first blog post! Why is it a perfect day one might ask? That is an excellent question. Because today is the Canadian Election! Yay! Since this morning people have been flocking to there local polling station and voting for who they think would make the best Prime Minister of Canada.
There is apparently also quite a high number of people voting with helmets on or with there faces covered with a scarf. This all, of course, in protest of the recent ruling by the federal court allowing Zunera Ishaq to wear a niqab while taking the citizenship oath. According to The Guardian 82% of Canadians agree with the Conservative governments attempted niqab ban.
Back to me, though. Politics distracted me again apparently. That is the story of my life and also the story of my blog. Not only Canadian politics, but American as well! And any other country that I happen to be interested in. But if I have a desire to post something un-politicy, I will do that too. So you never really know. *Maniacal laughter*
Unfortunately, I am a college student with not a whole lot of time on my hands. But I will post whenever possible. Have a great day, world!
